A Body on Hold - Multiple Sclerosis

I have lived with multiple sclerosis for several years, but A Body on Reserve - Multiple Sclerosis is not a book about illness. It is a book about what the illness invades, steals, transforms, and, at times, reveals. Between hospitals, flare-ups, medication, and the invisible wear and tear on the body, I tried to preserve humour, lucidity, and some kind of identity. I write about the fear of losing autonomy, the silent humiliation of depending on others, extreme fatigue, but also about friendship, memory, love, and resistance.
Without heroics or lessons in overcoming adversity, this is a raw and intimate portrait of someone living in an unpredictable body. A testimony about fragility, dignity, and the continuous attempt to remain whole when one's own body seems to begin negotiating one's existence.
