As a result of her brief mobility at the Horta Museum, between 2021 and 2023, among others, she carried out the present research, which resulted in the book, portraying the eating habits of the more privileged classes between 1899-1930, precisely the golden age of cable telegraphy, which bestowed the title of "cosmopolitan" upon Europe's westernmost city.
The resident foreign communities, such as the British, Americans, and Germans, regularly joined by the French, Italians, and Spanish, contributed to the enrichment of the local elite gastronomy, based on traditional models of conventual heritage and proximity to both Continental Portugal and Brazil.
Between tradition and innovation, ingenious and skilled female hands dared to merge cultures more perfectly than politicians, building a unique society in those decades.
