Joe's Stories

"Zé's Stories" is more than a collection of narratives; it is a vivid portrayal of memories, affections, and traditions that echo the identity of small places of yesteryear. Through an intimate and authentic writing style, the author gives voice to characters and episodes that, though seemingly simple at first glance, representations of seemingly ordinary lives, reveal the human and cultural richness of a community. We follow Zé's adventures and misfortunes in a world of cunning, where he battles to maintain his integrity.
The author, deeply connected to Vale de Cambra, although originally from Northeast Trás-os-Montes, a man involved in the community and a contributor to various newspapers throughout his life, discusses with remarkable skill and mastery between the playful, the popular, and formalism, harmonizing both registers in an unusual discursive texture.
This work emerges with the support and promotion of the Alberto Bastos Civic Association, which embraced this partnership from the very beginning, respecting its commitment to culture and the valorization of the bold, who believe in their talent.
