Understanding Children to Better Educate Them - Taking Action
We serve as an example whenever we are with a child. Whatever we do, or even if we do nothing, whether we want to or not, know it or not, we participate in their development, as they observe and learn: we educate them.
But what does it mean to educate? In recent decades, this notion has radically transformed, shifting from extreme rigor to absolute benevolence, not always well understood. Between the temptation to let the child do anything, to ensure we are not mis-educating them, or, conversely, the tendency to abuse our position of superiority, we sometimes feel helpless.
Through various examples with which we can identify, and by reinforcing essential notions such as self-esteem, confidence, emotional security, respect, relationships with others, and paternal and maternal roles, this book provides the tools to decipher and nurture the connection we build with the child every day.
Thus, by fully embracing our responsibility towards this small human being who depends on us, and by valuing the connection that has always allowed us to make the "round trip," we will help them grow until they serenely find their place in our community. And during this journey, we too will better understand the resources for a peaceful life in society.
